The National Youth Orchestras of Scotland’s Training Ensembles

June 30

The National Youth Orchestras of Scotland’s Training Ensembles are designed for younger players around the age of 8-14 (ABRSM grade 3, as a guide only) to prepare them for entry into an Orchestra.

Our courses adopt a holistic approach, concentrating on learning repertoire, listening skills and musicianship, together with advice on audition preparation and each course culminates with a private showcase performance for friends and family. We provide a fun, yet focussed learning environment with games, pop song arrangements, jazz and mini concerts. A place where students are encouraged to grow as musicians and as people in a relaxed atmosphere.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN. Courses will take place between 7-15 July and the fee covers all activities, accommodation and meals. Spaces do tend to fill up fast, especially upper strings and student places are allocated on a first come first served basis.

For an application pack including payment options please contact Orchestral Ensembles Manager Lauren Hamilton at laurenhamilton@nyos.co.uk or call 0141 332 8311
