This forum is open to artists and arts practitioners with an interest in and/ or responsibility for creative learning and participatory arts. The forum will provide an opportunity to learn about the work of the Creative Scotland Creative Learning and Young People team and provide a networking opportunity for practitioners to meet the team and each other.
Creative Learning is a connecting theme embedded and contributing to all areas of Creative Scotland’s work. The Creative Learning and Young People (CL&YP) team was established in 2013 and is responsible for the strategic leadership of Creative Learning as well as managing a series of national projects. Funds managed by the team are largely focussed on young people and address issues such as areas of need, overcoming barriers to access and ensuring geographic spread.
The forum will include:
• An introduction to the Creative Learning Review
• An overview of the Creative Learning and Young People team’s work
• A series of round table case studies and conversations with the team on:
o The Youth Music Initiative – an outcomes based approach
o CashBack for Creativity – understanding young people’s development in creative activities
o Time to Shine (TTS) & the Year of Young People
o ArtWorks Scotland – try out the ‘is this the best it can be?’ toolkit
o Creative Learning Plan and Networks
