ArtWorks Scotland is inviting mid-career and established artists (across all artforms) who work within participatory arts/ socially engaged practice to ‘apply’ to take part in this one day masterclass with Chrissie Tiller at Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling on 14th March ’17 from 10am – 4pm.
Every participatory arts project, like a good film or play, has its own narrative. What’s possible, however, may be limited by time, space or money. As artists working in collaborative and participatory contexts, we are also constantly trying to balance the demands of those who have commissioned or funded our work with the wants and needs of our partners and participants.
Chrissie will explore the personal values that inform our practice. We will look at the ethics and principles that underpin our choices and hopefully share our responses to the questions:
What drives you as an artist? Creatively, and in terms of social change? And how important is it to see these drivers and values reflected in the projects you undertake?
Freelance artists will be given a contribution towards loss of earnings of £100 and travel expenses of up to £50 to attend the event.
