Derick Mackinnon from New Found Sound will deliver an introduction to digital marketing workshop offering practical tips on how best to promote your band across digital platforms and how to use mailing lists to develop your fanbase. It will also look at the basic creation of Electronic Press Kits [EPK’s] and offer advise on engaging with media.
Derick founded New Found Sound in 2006, Wide Days music business convention in 2010 and has worked as a Marketing Manager, created press and social media campaigns for organisations like Drake Music Scotland, goNORTH, Born To Be Wide, We Make Music Work, Saltire Taverns and artists as diverse as, Curtis Stigers, Bombskare, Stanley Odd, PianoPiano and The Levellers. Derick has worked on large scale music experiential marketing campaigns, tours and festivals with Miller Genuine Draft and Kopparberg- as well as creating his own festivals and live music nights. He currently manages press and social media for Scottish Music Centre, [including Music Plus+ and Hit The Road youth music projects], and writes a weekly Artist of the Week feature for the Scotland On Sunday newspaper.
