In 2018, BBC Young Musician celebrates its 40th birthday and this is your chance to be part of the story. The search for the next BBC Young Musician begins here and will reach its conclusion on 13th May 2018 when three musicians will perform a full concerto with a professional orchestra at the Grand Final.
You may enter in one or more of the instrument classes as long as the following three criteria are satisfied.
- qualification: you should have achieved Grade 8 standard
- age: you should be 18 or under on 1 January 2018
- residency: you must be a resident of the United Kingdom (including the Channel Isles and Isle of Man) at the time of entry and for the duration of the competition – until May 2018
Eligible applicants will go through a series of Regional and then Category auditions and finals. For more information on the process you can download the BBC Young Musician entry brochure HERE.
