The Musicians’ Union (MU) has teamed up with Glasgow based electronic artist Nightwave to offer MU members an opportunity not to be missed – an introduction to using Ableton.
Ableton is music production software which allows the user to take their musical ideas, turn them into finished songs, and even take them to live stage performances.
The course will take place over two evenings, and will include a drums masterclass, melody and bass composition, arrangement and effects and mixdown.
Nightwave, aka Maya Medvesek, is currently one of the electronic scene’s most diverse and well respected artists and has released on both underground labels (Unknown to the Unknown, Svetlana Industries, Seed Records) and on world renowned labels such as Ministry of Sound. She has also DJ’d around the world and has supported artists such as Derick May, LFO, Azaelia Banks and Rustie.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those who wish to get started on composing electronic music, or who wish to brush up on some of the basics with one of the most sought after names on the scene.
Applicants must be available for both sessions and will be required to bring their own laptop and headphones.
Please note, this event is exclusively for MU members. To join the MU please visit www.themu.org
